New Post: OgrLayer.SaveChanges() not working for me, what am I doing wrong?

Hi, sorry for the late answer. A long post indeed. Thanks for the details, it may help.

One thing to mention immediately is that there is OgrLayer.SupportsEditing property, so things like layer being reprojected can be easily detected. The fact that it was complaining about FID column and not reprojection is a bug - there is wrong constant in SaveChanges method - I'll fix it.

Now about other 2 issues you are facing - hanging during saving and existing layers missing when creating a new one - I need to check those myself. When I was writing this functionality I mostly tested it against PostGIS and only briefly with SQL Server. Not sure if that included saving changes. I skimmed the code, the obvious thing to do is to report saving progress via callback. It's not done now as far as I can see. I'll work on this today and then report back to you. We also need this functionality in MapWindow 5 so it's only a small change of plans.

Regards,
Sergei
