@ross, I tried the documentation but the VS 2003 versions giving me more trouble in my vs2005 interface. I am stuck with axmap1 compiler error which is not going away even if I add MapControl Com component. Can you suggest something? Thanks.

I managed to follow docmentation to create my own map application, but could use some help on two main things (a) use of legend control (I am not sure where this control is) and (b) interface to change and handle symbology.
