When copying from one map to another with mapstate, defaultdrawingoptions are not copied.
If I set expressions on a shapefile in the main map without setting defaultdrawinoptions to false, the main map will reflect defaultdrawingoptions (which is normal) when the copied map will reflect expressions results (which means that this option has not been transfered with mapstate).

If I understand it correctly, the problem is that on deserialization of map state category expressions are applied by default, while actual assignment may be different (expressions simply weren't applied or changed via Shapefile.set_ShapeCategory). I added serialization of category indices for each shape in the v4.9. They will be saved like this: <CategoryIndices Count="49">0,0,2,2,0,2,2,2,1,0,1,2,3,1,1,3,2,0,0,3,0,1,1,1,2,1,3,1,3,0,0,2,1,0,3,2,3,3,1,1,1,0,1,3,1,0,3,2,3,</CategoryIndices>
