I've attached a shapefile which can be read by QGis but not by MW.
MW5 reports: geometry type: not defined
Most likely the shapefile parser of MW is too strict.
Comments: Hi Sergei, You're right it has no high priority. Perhaps it is enough to report it in an error. I'm not sure if it does right now. Your analysis on the problem did help me fixing it in our application that is creating the shapefile (without using MapWindow). We've added the shapefile type to the .shx header and now MapWindow can open the file properly.
