could you elaborate? I've just installed MW 4.8.8SR and then MapWinGIS 4.9.3 on top of it. Honestly I'm a bit surprised that MapWindow even starts after it since there were some changes that break backward compatibility in MapWinGIS 4.9. But it starts and can even display shapefiles and tiles, though grids fail as expected.
Now to the legend editor (docking window). When I'm dragging it over the map I see semi-transparent bluish rectangle, but no sign of tracing or slowing down (MapWinGIS map must not redraw itself during the operation I suppose). I'm testing it on Windows 8.1 x64.
