That's why I request a new functionality: the possibility of using user-defined graphics (preferably vector garphics) as markers in linepatterns, either as line-shapes or as contours of polygon-shapes.
Beyond that, the top solution would be a device-independent measuring system of graphics...
However things may turn out, thank you for this great, free component.

vad007,
I guess to suit your requirements one would need to see those state rules and implement functionality / API accordingly. Frankly there is little chance that it will be done in near future since our immediate plans are focused on developing MapWinGIS-based .NET app (MapWindow5). However if you have some budget, we can discuss implementing it ASAP according to your needs. You can contact me on the matter: lsu [at] mail [dot] by.
Another option if you have C++ skills is to implement it by yourself. The related code is in DrawPolylinePath function in [ShapefileDrawing.cpp](https://mapwingis.codeplex.com/SourceControl/latest#MapWinGIS/trunk/Drawing/ShapefileDrawing.cpp). Building MapWinGIS from source is explained [here](https://mapwingis.codeplex.com/wikipage?title=Building%20from%20source).
