Hi there,
I am using the latest release version of mapwingis (4.8.8). Same as current mapwindow gis desktop app uses.
I tried to convert a mapinfo MIF file into shapefile using the Utils class OGRLayerToShapefile function. It works great for smaller files. However, it crashes without a helpful error message for a 70MB file MIF file.
The mif file store point ,x,y coordinates and attributes, it contains rounghly 1,5 million points. AFAIK, MapWinGIS users ogr2ogr.exe to convert. I tried the orginal ogr2ogr.exe to convert the same MIF file to shapefile and it works. QGIS also uses the same process and it loaded OK on QGIS tool.
Has anyone had the same problem?
thanks,
Yong
